BYU Independent Study uses a blended approach to meet accessibility standards by using a combination of technology and human resources to provide full accessibility compliance. The technology solution will incorporate the use of screen readers compatible with the most popular browsers for web-based applications, closed captioning, large font etc., and then working with the student's local educational counselor that identifies the student with accessibility needs through an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan). BYU Independent Study will then contract with a local teacher, tutor or parent to provide and fully meet the accessibility standards for the student.
