Writing Assignment

  1. In a 1–2 page, double-spaced paper, describe your writing process and feelings about your writing. Consider the following questions:
    • What do you do in order to create a written document?
    • How does your process compare to the one outlined in the textbook?
    • How effective do you think your writing process is?
    • What aspects of your writing do you like?
    • What aspects would you like to improve?

Your instructor will consider this paper to also be an assessment of your current writing abilities, so please take time to thoughtfully and clearly respond to the questions asked.

  2. After completing your Writing Process Assessment, reread your paper and think about those aspects of your writing that you would like to improve. At the end of your assessment, provide a list of 4–5 aspects of your writing you would like to improve. These will be your Writing Goals for the semester. Please take this part of the assignment seriously. You will be asked to reflect on your writing goals several times throughout the semester, so pick goals that will be useful for you.
