Let's Talk About Your Grade

There are four parts to your grade: the reading assignments for each lesson, the Speedback assignments for each lesson, the end-of-unit essays, and the final exam.

Each reading assignment is worth 2-3 percent of your final grade. It is very important that you pace yourself throughout this course. Don't let lessons pile up near the end of your allotted time for this course, or you will not be able to learn the information well enough to pass the test.

All reading assignments must receive a "C" or better in order to receive a passing grade in this class. This means that even if you are missing one reading assignment and you have 90 percent of the total points possible, you will receive a failing grade. Therefore, plan to turn everything in! Any assignments that are not completed enough to receive a "C" grade will be returned to you and must be redone to receive credit for this class.

The good news is that about 60 percent of your grade is within your complete control! It should be easy for you to pass this course with a very good grade!

The Speedback assignments each contain ten multiple-choice questions and are worth 1 percent. Five of the lessons in this unit contain a lab assignment. The Speedback assignments for those five lessons will contain an additional five questions that are worth double. Thus, Speedback assignments for these five lessons will be worth 2 percent of your final grade.

The end-of-unit essay assignments are worth 15 percent of your final grade.

The final exam is worth 22 percent of your final grade. You must pass the final exam to pass the class.
